This Scandinavian original has been made in multiple languages, but nothing comes close to the original. The iconic bridge that link Sweden and Denmark plays a key role in this investigative thriller. The story is intriguing from the start, a corpse is found on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden, carefully positioned so that each half is in a different country. Its soon revealed that the upper body and lower body are of two different persons. And there begins this atmospheric thriller journey where two police officers from reach city joins together to solve this mystery. What sets apart this one is a great script backed by some compelling performance. The lady detective character is one of the best well written police office role i have seen after Frances McDormand in Fargo. Her admirable honesty and the way she does things is just amazing, this is in total contrast to her counterpart who cares for feelings and much more polished. We know that she is always right but still we feel she could do much better based on circumstances. The Scandi-dramas gets complicated as the show goes on with a tightly woven story. This amusing murder mystery is darkly intelligent and socially conscious quality television series. The Bridge does not shy away from shocking crimes and its an inventive murder book.
Verdict - 4/5(A Tone Apart)
